1. Right click on the video file and select Properties
2. Click on the Summary tab on the top of the new window
3. Click Advanced

Creative ZEN Vision, ZEN Vision:M, ZEN Vision W, ZEN and ZEN X-Fi support the following video formats:

• MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4-SP
• Windows Media Video (WMV) 9
• MJPEG
• DivX ^TM* 4 and 5
  This is not a DivX ^TM certified product. Playback support on this devices applies to DivX 4 & 5 only.
• XviD**
  XViD encoded files are playable if they are encoded as standard MPEG-4 Simple (SP) or Advanced Simple Profile without GMC.
• MPED4-SP Supported ONLY in the ZEN X-Fi

The ZEN V Plus and Zen V-Video support the videos formatted according to the following settings:

• AVI Video Codec: DIB (RAW RGB)
• Resolution: 128x96*
• FPS: 15*
• Audio Codec: DVI ADPCM
• Audio BitRate: 176Kbps* (2 channel total)

Since ZEN V Plus Series only support a transcoded video or uncompressed video, Video Converter has to decompress the video file causing the resultant video file size to be twice as large. This is considered normal and no further support and firmware update is necessary.

The ZEN Mozaic, supports only videos that have been transcoded with the bundled software included with the player ( Creative Centrale )

ZEN Vision, Vision:M and ZEN Vision W portable media players are capable of rendering video in a variety of formats. In addition to their high quality internal displays, these players also support viewing on an external TV or display.

* Combined Windows Media Video and Audio bitrate should not exceed 800 Kbps

.M4V files are not supported, you can transcode these video files using Creative Video Converter

Content should be rendered at its native frame rate: 24 fps for film, 25 fps for PAL, 30 fps for NTSC.

Available Widescreen Resolutions:

Performance is a function of CODEC, resolution, frame rate, and data rates for the video and audio streams. Recommended combinations should result in optimal quality and smooth performance.

To play back .MP4 and .M4V files in your PC, it is necessary to download and install QuickTime or other 3rd party video players.

Transcoding is a file conversion process that converts from one file format to another format. To transfer and play .MP4 and .M4V (for example, the video files downloaded from www.zencast.com) with a ZEN player, it will be necessary to transcoding these video file to a support format (.WMV).

You can use Creative Video Converter (Creative Media Toolbox) to transcode.

To find out the name of the codecs, video resolution etc, open Windows Media Player 10, highlight the video file being played, and then click on File and Properties.
